A woman was arrested after hitting herself in the head with a bowling ball during a robbery.
30-year-old Jamie L. Gordon of Decatur, Illinois, was arrested after police discovered that she tried to rob the bowling alley where she worked.
After committing the theft, Gordon hit herself in the head with a bowling ball to make it seem as though she was a victim.
Gordon, who was an employee of Pla-More Lanes, called police to report a burglary around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Before police arrived, Gordon hit herself in the head with a red bowling ball twice.
Gordon then dropped the ball and waited for the police to arrive.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video of the “crime scene” and found that Gordon hit herself in the head with the bowling ball after stealing cash from the register.
When officer James Weddle confronted Gordon with the video evidence, she admitted to the theft and told police that the money was in her car.
Gordon led the officer to her car, where they found a Hello Kitty bag full of money. The bag contained $439 according to police.
When asked where the rest of the money was, Gordon allegedly said that she gambled it away in the bowling alley’s slots machines.
Gordon admitted that she gambled away her salary at the slot machines and that she started stealing from her boss in order to satisfy her gambling addiction.
She was booked into the Macon County Jail, and her bail was set at $7,500.
