(Scroll down for video) A girl was arrested, charged and convicted of homicide by vehicle after driving a car that overturned, killing three of her good friends, prosecutor in New York said.
Now, the 16-year-old girl has been sentenced to write a letter of apology to the family of the victims.
Julia Ware was also sentenced to indefinite probation and must perform 300 hours of community service.
Ware pleaded guilty in juvenile court to seven counts, including three counts of homicide by vehicle and two counts of accident involving death or injury as an unlicensed driver.
According to the police investigation, Ware was driving her father’s Chevrolet Suburban, when she lost control and overturned the vehicle.
As a result of the crash, Cullen Keffer, Shamus Digney, and Ryan Lesher, were killed.
The girl’s father, Michael Ware, 53, of Scarsdale, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children, three counts of involuntary manslaughter, six counts of recklessly endangering another person, one count of false reports and one count of permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
Police said that Michael Ware allowed his daughter to drive his car on numerous occasions before the accident. Ware is free on $100,000 bail.
