(Scroll down for video) Kids who were on their way to school, were surprised when a goat walked onto their bus.

The goat hopped on the bus, which was going to the North East Middle School in Cecil County, Maryland.

Eric Eldreth was waiting for the bus with his daughter around 7:30 a.m., when he spotted the goat, which weighed about 110 pounds.

Eldreth said that the goat actually looked both ways before crossing the street.

It kept a distance from him and his daughter, but when the bus came to pick up the students, the goat began to move.

Eldreth offered to accompany his 12-year-old daughter on the bus, but she wanted to go by herself.

The black and white goat suddenly made its move and hopped onto the bus.

The female bus driver applied the emergency brakes, fearing what the goat might do.

Eldreth went to get the animal out of the bus. He grabbed the goat by the horns and the animal walked off.

Fortunately, the goat did not resist.

The students were not afraid. Nobody was in a panic. They were just laughing.

Once the goat got off the bus, Eldreth called police to alert them over the lost farm animal.

Lt. Michael Holmes with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office said that a deputy was dispatched to the scene, but the officer did not find the goat or its owner.

Eldreth said that none of the immediate neighbors have goats.
