Woman and her brother kill her husband after he caught her cheating and threatened to take their kids

A woman convinced her brother to help her kill her husband after he caught her cheating.

The woman of Idaho, is accused of holding her husband down as her brother hacked him to death with a hatchet, in the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Maria Hernandez, 33, had allegedly been unfaithful to her husband. After he learned of the affair, he threatened to take their four children away from her, according to police.

The new accusations against Hernandez, comes two days after her husband’s body was found laying on a road.

Hernandez and her husband, Enrique, 43, were visiting relatives in Las vegas, when she asked her brother to help her kill her husband.

The woman and her brother, 22-year-old Hector Gutierrez, made the crime look like a carjacking.

It was around 2:30 a.m. Monday, when Gutierrez launched a surprise attack and killed his brother-in-law, according to police.

Maria Hernandez called police to report the carjacking. She stayed at the crime scene while waiting for police. Meanwhile, Gutierrez sped off in the van and got rid of it about 10 miles away. Police found a trail of blood, leading to a vehicle registered to Gutierrez.

Gutierrez was allegedly found later in a hospital. He had a non-life threatening wound, which he claimed he sustained during a robbery.

When questioned by investigators, Gutierrez allegedly confessed to killing his brother-in-law, saying that he felt forced to carry out his sister’s wishes.

The siblings face charges of murder with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder.
