Ken Raschick, 56, and four children, were in the cherry picker when it fell at least 60 feet on Sunday afternoon.

Raschick of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died along with the 12-year-old boy after his cherry picker overturned and fell to the ground.

The 12-year-old boy who died, was identified as the nephew of Raschick. The 10 and 7-year-old son’s of Raschick along with a neighbor’s 10-year-old son, were seriously injured.

Raschick was the owner of a tree cutting business. Friends said that he rode with the children on his cherry picker quite often.

Investigators believe that the a gust of wind might have had something to do with the fall.

According to police, the crane’s stabilizing legs were not deployed and the vehicle was in the back of a flat truck, which was not properly secure.

Raschick and the 12-year-old boy died after taking the brunt of the fall as they were in front of the younger children to protect them.
