An attorney was arrested, charged and convicted of fraud after stealing around $1 million from his clients and spending most of the money on prostitutes, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

58-year-old Andrew Taylor of Cheadle, stole cash from 13 bank accounts belonging to his clients suffering from dementia.

He used the funds to purchase antique pens and on sex chat lines. His crime spree began shortly after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Taylor became obsessed with sex and shopping. Taylor had power of attorney over all but one of his 13 elderly victims. He stole a staggering $600,000 from an 86-year-old woman suffering from dementia.

He also stole cash from an 87-year-old woman, leaving her family unable to pay for funeral costs. Over a period of 4 months, he managed to spend $100,000 on prostitutes.

Taylor pleaded guilty to 13 counts of fraud. Taylor said that he is willing to sell the family home in Brooklyn Crescent, in order to compensate his victims and their families.

He was sentenced to serve 4 years in prison.
