(Scroll down for video) A teacher resigned from her job after she was arrested for abusing her teenage sons.
The preschool teacher and her husband are accused of chaining their 14-year-old twin sons to furniture and beating them as a form of punishment.
Brian and Shauna Paque of Texas, were arrested and charged with child abuse after one of her children managed to escape and ran to a police station in Decatur begging for help.
Shauna quit her job as a preschool teacher at the Decatur School District, where she was employed for 11 years.
Her husband Brian is a former teacher.
Police said that the boy had a bruised throat, a footprint on his back and other injuries when he arrived at the police headquarters.
“He came through the door crying for help,” said Police Chief Rex Hoskins.
The boy told police that his mother choked him and struck him on the head with a frying pan.
Police found the boy’s twin brother in a nearby apartment complex. He told police that his father removed the chains from him and ordered him to go look for his brother.
According to the arrest affidavit, Shauna admitted to choking her son while trying to get a camera away from him.
The boy wanted to take video of his mother beating his brother, so that he can turn it over to police, Hoskins said.
Shauna showed police the chain and locks she used on her sons. The boys allegedly told police that the abuse has been going on for over 10 years.
Shauna and Brian Paque were released from prison after posting $20,000 bond.
The children were removed from the home while the investigation is ongoing.
