(Scroll down for video) A pharmacist’s brave actions saved herself and her coworkers from a gunman.
A man in Alabama, walked into a pharmacy, took everyone hostage and demanded drugs.
The pharmacist told the man that he could have any drugs he wanted if he released the 6 hostages.
Police said that Christopher Trail tried to rob the Redmont Pharmacy in Red Bay, located at 1102 Golden Road on Tuesday morning just before 9:00 a.m.
Pharmacy owner J.C. Weeks said that his pharmacist Donna Weatherford, persuaded Trail to release the 5 hostages which included a customer and store employees.
Once the hostages were safely outside, Weatherford handed the gunman different pills. Trail consumed the drugs until he overdosed on them.
About two hours after entering the store, the gunman laid down on some chairs and fell asleep. Weatherford then grabbed the gun and ran outside. She handed the gun to police officers who were at the scene.
Trail was arrested. Police said that their was a burglary in the area and a gun was reported missing. Investigators are trying to determine if the two incidents are related.
