(Scroll down for video) Two nuns in Italy, said that they are alive after being stuck in a hot elevator for three days, because they drank urine.

The nuns of the Marist Sisters in Rome, are counting their blessings after the two sisters were trapped in the hot elevator for a three days before being rescued.

A nun at the facility only said that the two sisters are now fine.

Police said that they rescued the two sisters on Monday, after they got stuck in the elevator during a blackout on Friday.

No one heard their cries for help over the weekend. On Monday morning, a cleaner arrived and heard them calling for help.

The sisters, aged 69 and 58, told doctors that they prayed to pass time in the elevator. They were treated at a hospital for severe dehydration and released.

In order not to lose consciousness, they drank their own urine, a doctor at the hospital said.
