A man was arrested, charged and convicted of assault after slamming his former wife into a concrete floor for trying to steal his toaster, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.
Now, 42-year-old Stephan Law of North Finchley, was ordered to pay 39-year-old Katya Wildman 75 pounds ($118) after pleading guilty to assault.
According to the police investigation, Wildman, a fashion designer, came to her former husband’s home to take a toaster, which she believed belonged to her.
However, the two began fighting over the toaster until Wildman was slammed into a concrete floor. Law pleaded guilty to assault and was given a conditional discharge.
He was also ordered to pay 350 pounds ($550) in court costs. A judge issued a restraining order against Law, which will be in effect for the next three years.
