(Scroll down for video) Police arrested a homeless man on charges of assault after allegedly punching a little girl in the face outside a cafe, police in Australia said.
Sydney police said that the 16-month-old girl was assaulted at the Central Railway Station on Thursday.
Around 11:30 a.m., the girl was in her baby stroller with her parents outside the Espresso Station Pie and Coffee Shop on Eddy Avenue.
The homeless man approached the baby stroller and punched her in the face.
The man ran from the scene towards Elizabeth Street. The baby’s father ran after the man while telling passersby to contact the police.
Police officers who arrived at the scene, caught the homeless man hiding inside a nearby building on Pitt Street. The 28-year-old Nicholas Troy Bolas was arrested and charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
The baby suffered a small laceration to the face and was treated at the scene by New South Wales paramedics.
