A man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana after allegedly spilling gallons of maple syrup on a sidewalk, police in Canada said.
Ontario police said that they have arrested the 56-year-old man of Hamilton on Thursday, after being found in possession of marijuana while spilling maple syrup on Summers Lane.
Around 10:00 a.m., police officers found an unknown and sticky liquid covering an area of four feet. City employees were called to the scene to clean up the liquid, which turned out to be maple syrup.
Witnesses at the scene identified the suspect responsible for the maple syrup incident. Police said that they arrested the man for criminal mischief at the scene.
As he was being searched, police found marijuana in his pocket. The suspect is currently on probation for an unrelated crime.
