DJ shot dead after refusing to play requested song at girl’s birthday party

A DJ is dead after being shot at a girl’s birthday party following a dispute about a song, police in India said.

Uttar Pradesh police said that the DJ was shot dead after he refused to play a song from the movie Bullett Raja during the birthday celebration of a businessman’s daughter on Monday.

32-year-old Arun Kumar Valmiki was shot in the chest at close range by a young man identified as Ashu. Valmiki was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to the police investigation, the DJ was performing at the house of Ajay Gupta, who celebrated the birthday of his daughter.

At some point, Ashu asked Valmiki to play Tamanche. When Valmiki refused, Ashu allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.

Ashu fled from the scene immediately after the incident. So far, Ashu was not arrested.
