A man, his wife and their granddaughter were injured after a bag of natural gas exploded near their home.
The three were injured after the large plastic bag containing stolen gas exploded in Puyang County, Henan, China.
Li Gutang allegedly pilfered the highly flammable gas from the Zhongyuan oil field. He is not the only one who stole gas.
Villagers were warned that placing gas in huge bags can be dangerous. Villagers reportedly used bags measuring about two meters high and 5.6 meters long to store the pilfered gas.
This bag of gas is enough for the cooking needs of one month.
On the day of the incident, Gutang stored the natural gas in the plastic bag and drove home.
His wife was cooking in the kitchen when the bag suddenly exploded in the courtyard.
Li, his wife and their granddaughter suffered burns.
Li was the most severely injured. All 3 were taken to a nearby hospital.
