A young man was arrested on a charge of willful damage to property after being caught breaking toilet bowls and doors of a men’s bathroom at an entertainment center, prosecutors in Australia said.
24-year-old Benjamin Lucas Ross of Gladstone, was caught breaking three toilet doors at the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre.
Cracks were also seen on two ceramic toilet bowls. Ross was brought before the Gladstone Magistrates Court, where he pleaded guilty to causing willful damage.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. People at the entertainment center told investigators that they heard banging noises coming from the men’s restroom.
When they went to investigate, they saw Ross swinging a bathroom door until it broke off.
Ross and then fled from the scene, but surveillance video showed him entering the restroom alone at the time that the damage occurred.
The toilet doors were ripped off their hinges. A judge sentenced Ross to a fine of $300.
