An alleged teenage gang leader is accused of leading a mob inside a store to destroy property.
17-year-old Kharron Nathan Green was arrested after he and 40 other people raided a Walmart store located in Macon, Georgia.
One teenager allegedly admitted that they entered the store to destroy as much merchandise as possible in a short amount of time.
The group of people managed to escape from the crime scene before police arrived. However, Green was arrested when he returned to retrieve his cellphone, which he accidentally left in the store.
According to investigators, the mob of about 40 to 50 people entered the Walmart around 1:45 a.m., and destroyed about $2,000 worth of merchandise.
Green is accused of being the ringleader. He was seen on surveillance video showing gang signs. Other teenagers were seen throwing a customer out of his motorized wheelchair.
Green was charged with inciting a riot and damage to property. He has been released on bail.
Police are reviewing surveillance videos to identify the other perpetrators, who caused about $2,000 in damages.
