(Scroll down for video) A state representative was rushed to a hospital after being beaten up by a group of homeless people who were seeking revenge, police in Hawaii said.
Representative Tom Brower, 50, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center after being punched in the face by several people in Kakaako on Monday afternoon around 5:00 p.m.
According to witnesses at the scene, Brower was recording some homeless people who were outside the Children’s Discovery Center, when he was asked to stop.
Brower ignored them before being assaulted. He suffered a concussion and two swollen eyes. His video camera was stolen.
Several years ago, Brower used a hammer to demolish stolen shopping carts, which were used by homeless people.
Brower said that it was not an attack against the homeless community as he just wanted to clean up the streets.
