Man punches his wife and pulls down his pants while flying on crowded plane

(Scroll down for video) A man of the United Kingdom was arrested in the United States, for hitting his wife on an airplane.

The British Airways flight from London to Houston, Texas, was diverted to Boston, Massachusetts, after the alleged assault.

Police boarded the plane and arrested 48-year-old Darren Halliwell of Manchester.

According to witnessed, Halliwell, who is an IT director of a company in the United Kingdom, was intoxicated when he punched his wife in the back of the head.

He is also accused of pulling down his pants and arguing with flight attendants. Passengers held him down until police arrived.

His wife continued on her way to Houston, leaving her husband behind. She told police that she plans to go back to London immediately.

Halliwell was arrested in Boston, and charged with interfering with a flight crew and assault. His bail was set at $5,000. If he posts bail, he will have to surrender his passport.
