The Los Angeles County police officer was charged with several felonies after a brutal assault on his girlfriend.

33-year-old Alejandro Flores is accused of setting the woman’s hair on fire and threatening her with a gun before turning up the volume on the television so no one hears her cries for help.

Flores appeared in court on Tuesday in Orange County, where he lived with his girlfriend and their 2-year-old son.

The incident occurred following an argument over the baby’s pacifier, according to court records.

Police said that Flores threw the woman into a wall and beat her before grabbing her by the neck and dragging her to the stove in the kitchen, where he set her hair on fire.

The officer allegedly threatened to hurt her even more if she called the police. He took her cellphone, threw it away and threatened her with a gun.

Flores was charged with domestic battery with corporal injury, assault with force, aggravated assault, criminal threats, dissuading a witness by force or threat, and false imprisonment by menace or violence.

All are felony charges. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison. His bail was set at $100,000.
