(Scroll down for video) People are upset after learning that their neighbor, who is a registered sex offender, lured a girl to his home.
Parents in California, reported their daughter missing after she did not return home at night.
The girl was found alive, locked in the garage of a registered sex offender’s home, police said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Keane Dean, on charges of oral copulation of a minor after he allegedly sexually assaulted the girl in his parents’ house in Santa Clarita.
Dean was ordered to register as a sex offender in 2008, after he was convicted of indecent exposure while he was on probation for a conviction of theft.
Investigators said that Dean, met the girl a few times at an Albertsons grocery store. He told her she was pretty, and the two exchanged phone numbers.
One day, when they met at the grocery store, she went home with the man. Her parents reported her missing around 9:00 p.m.
Police reviewed the girl’s phone records and contacted Dean, who was in her recent call history. However, he denied any knowledge of her whereabouts.
Officers contacted his parents and received permission to search the house. They found the girl inside a closet in the garage.
The girl was reunited with her parents and Dean was taken to jail. His bail was set at $100,000.
