The police officer of Indiana, was attacked by the 4-year-old girl while her mother was being arrested.
The officer, a member of the Delaware County narcotics unit, arrested 25-year-old Amanda Lynn Summers after she sold two grams of heroin to the police informant with her daughter in the car.
The narcotics team decided not to draw their weapons as Summers’ young daughter was in the car when the police stopped her vehicle.
However, according to police, while the officer was arresting the mother, he “felt the child kicking him in the right leg, while she was screaming at the officer to leave her mother alone.”
The officer calmed the girl down and she was handed over to her grandmother. Officers allegedly found prescription drugs and methamphetamine in Summers’ vehicle.
She was charged with drug dealing, possession of a controlled substance and child neglect.
According to police, Summers told investigators that she sold drugs “because she was tired of being broke.” Her bail was set at 25,000.
