Woman tries to kill her boyfriend by stabbing him with a knife because he asked her for cigarette lighter

(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested on a charge of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife because he asked for a cigarette lighter, police in Tennessee said.

Chattanooga police said that they have arrested 45-year-old Kimberly Moore, after being accused of stabbing 49-year-old Terry Gauntt on Tuesday.

According the police investigation, Gauntt asked Moore for his cigarette lighter around 2:00 a.m., when she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him several times in the chest.

The two ran out of the house, where Gauntt was able to take the knife away from Moore. Neighbors of the couple called the police.

Officers were able to locate Moore, and she was arrested.

Gauntt was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. Moore was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Her bail was set at $150,000.
