A man is facing charges of robbery for stealing a hot cup of soup from another man.
Police in South Dakota, said that the man was armed with a chain when he stole ramen noodles outside the convenience store.
Police responded to the store in Rapid City at 2:30 a.m., where the victim, Gabriel Janis, told them he had bought the cup of noodle soup and heated it in the store.
The man said that he left the store and was eating the hot soup outside when he was approached from behind.
Janis told officers that the robber approached and threatened to hit him with the chain if he did not hand over the soup.
Janis complied and handed over the food. He then returned to the store to call police.
Police quickly located the suspect, who was identified as 27-year-old Lariat Sonny Comes, one block from the store.
Police found Comes eating the noodles. He was also in possession of a chain.
Comes was arrested for second-degree burglary and was booked at the Pennington County Jail. His bail was set at $2,500.
