Police in Florida, were called when a man was robbed at knifepoint.
However, officers did not have to search for the thief as he flagged them down.
Police officers were on their way to the home, where the robbery occurred, when 35-year-old Antonio Smith flagged them down.
“He just wanted them to know, that he did not do it,” according to the arrest report.
However, Smith was wearing the red cap described by the victim. Police searched the suspect and found the stolen property on him.
Riviera Beach police said that they received a call about a burglary. The victim said that he was in his bedroom in the early hours of the morning, when he was awakened by a man in a red baseball cap with a knife.
The man told police that the intruder took three cellphones from his house and left.
Officers found one of the cellphones on Smith, when he was taken in for questioning.
He is accused of home invasion and theft. He is being held in the Palm Beach County jail on $10,000 bail.
