(Scroll down for video) A man who found a bag filled with nearly $150,000 on a lawn, took it and fled from the scene, police in New Jersey said.
Mahwah police said that they arrested the man who took the bag filled with cash left near an ATM.
Surveillance video shows the costly mistake made by employees of ATMForUs. In the video, a worker is seen outside a building at 31 Industrial Avenue, loading an ATM with cash.
He put down the bag of cash before walking back to his vehicle. The bag was full of $10 and $20 bills. By the time the worker realized that he left the bag with cash on the street, it was gone.
Surveillance video shows a man taking the bag full of money and driving away in a van.
Police said that 42-year-old Alton Harvey of Hillside, was identified as the driver of the van and he admitted that he had purchased a car with the money taken from the bag.
He was arrested and charged with theft of lost property. He is being held on $125,000 bail.
An accomplice was identified as 25-year-old Jamar Bludson of Newark. A warrant was issued for his arrest, but he has not yet been located.
