A drunk plane passenger who jumped on women and children, was tied up by other plane passengers until his arrest, police in Thailand said.

The incident occurred on Thai Airways flight TG971 Sunday, flying from Zurich, Switzerland, to Bangkok.

Passengers on the flight said that around 11:30 a.m., the man sitting in the back of the plane began acting disorderly.

The members of the cabin crew tried to calm him, but the man, who was obviously drunk, became aggressive and insulted staff and passengers.

He acted like a lunatic. He climbed over seats, irrespective of whether the passengers were sitting in them or not. Women and children screamed in horror.

Passengers forced him back to his seat, and when he refused to sit, passengers tied his hands and feet.

The drunk man was left tied up in his seat for the remaining six hours of the flight until he was handed over to police in Bangkok.

Three passengers were slightly injured in the incident.
