Two women were arrested after police in Arizona, said that they had drugs hidden in their private parts.
One of the suspects, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital so that doctors can remove the heroin from her private parts.
Miranda Baldonado was briefly hospitalized for the procedure after the car she was riding in was pulled over in Yavapai County.
She and 19-year-old Sarah Valencia, were passengers in a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Michael Torrez, who is a convicted drug trafficker, police said.
A sheriff stopped the three, who are from New Mexico, on Monday, and quickly became suspicious.
When the group refused to allow police to search the vehicle, which belonged to Baldonado, a deputy led a K-9 around the car, and the dog went to the back door.
Detectives found one pound of heroin wrapped in condoms, police said.
The deputy soon learned that Baldonado and Valencia, had additional drugs hidden in their private parts.
Valencia was able to remove the package from her body without assistance, but Baldonado needed help from a doctor.
Police recovered more than one and a half pounds of heroin in total.
Torrez, 29, was on probation in New Mexico, for a drug offense.
The three were charged with various offenses, including possession and transportation of narcotics for sale.
Baldonado and Valencia were also charged with evidence tampering.
Torrez was jailed on $180,000 bond. A judge set bail for the two teenagers at $150,000.
