A jail officer called the police to complain that a man shot the teddy bear that marks his driveway outside his home, police in Alaska said.
Juneau police said that a drive-by shooter shot the large stuffed teddy bear early on Thursday morning.
Police received a report of shots fired on Point Lena Road around 5:00 a.m. Later in the morning, 34-year-old Brian Weed found a small bullet hole in the face of the stuffed animal.
Weed said that he believes his house was being targeted because he works as correctional officer at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. The police have no evidence that the shooting was related to the Weed’s work.
It seems that the shots were aimed at the stuffed animal, police said. Weed’s wife told investigators that she was home alone at the time of the incident and saw the suspect’s vehicle.
A neighbor heard the shooting as well, police said. Weed is offering a reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
