A woman was arrested on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing items from a Rite Aid store and urinating on the floor outside the bathroom, police in Connecticut said.

Middletown police said that they have arrested 50-year-old Kathleen Armstrong, after being accused of urinating on the floor of the store and stealing items.

Employees of the Rite Aid located on Main Street, saw Armstrong taking items from the shelves and putting them into her purse.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, saw Armstrong sitting in a chair with an open can of spray.

As she was being watched, Armstrong tried to inhale the spray before she was placed in handcuffs for her own safety, police said.

Police also observed a pool of urine on the floor near the door to the ladies room. A manager told officers that Armstrong lifted her dress and relieved herself.

Police found another can of aerosol duster, a liter of whole milk and makeup in the woman’s bag. The estimated total loss to the store was $20.

Armstrong was charged with breach of the peace and theft. She was booked into jail, and her bail was set at $500.
