A woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a building, police in Florida said.
Wildwood police said that they have arrested 33-year-old Christina Anne Marie Lamoreaux, after she blamed her dog for causing her car to crash into an apartment building.
According to the police investigation, Lamoreaux crashed into an apartment building before fleeing from the scene. Later that day, police officers went to Lamoreaux’s apartment in order to question her about the crash.
Officers smelled alcohol on her breath and tried to arrest her.
Lamoreaux admitted to being behind the wheel during the car crash, but said that her dog was responsible for the accident and officers should arrest it.
She did not say why her dog was responsible. She was booked into jail after refusing a sobriety test and resisting arrest.
Lamoreaux was charged with DUI, hit and run involving property damage and resisting arrest. She was released from the Sumter County Jail after posting bail of $2,500.
