If driving drunk is dangerous, a 10-year-old boy driving a truck is even more dangerous.
A drunk father was arrested after he thought it would be a good idea to have his young son drive him home rather than driving drunk.
Police said that the man from upstate New York, had his 10-year-old son drive his truck while he was sitting in the passenger seat.
Concerned motorists called police in the Saratoga County, Stillwater, after seeing the young boy driving the truck on Route 9P.
Police said that officers who stopped the truck, found the boy driving while his father, 46-year-old John Barling, was drunk in the passenger seat.
A family member was called to the scene to drive the boy home. His father was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and allowing an unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Police contacted the Saratoga County Child Protective Services to investigate.
