A car thief was arrested on a charge of causing damage to property after allegedly breaking into a car and locking himself in the trunk, police in Montana said.
Missoula police said that they have arrested 31-year-old Ryan Payne, after he called police to help him get out of a car trunk on Tuesday night.
Police officers who arrived at the scene, had to seek help from a business owner who had the key to the car in which Payne broke into.
Payne admitted to breaking into the car, and said that the trunk was left open.
He was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal mischief for the damage he did to the car while trying to escape among other charges.
