The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, announced that it has decided to shut out McDonald’s from its food court in order to promote healthy eating.
The McDonald’s restaurant located in the main center of the hospital, is closing next month after officials decided not to renew their lease.
The move is part of a series of changes at the hospital to promote healthy food choices, exercise and a smoke-free environment.
A spokesperson for the hospital said that their goal is to reduce risk factors that contribute to chronic diseases. McDonald’s was at the Cleveland Clinic for the past 20 years.
McDonald’s invited their employees and customers to visit their other locations in Cleveland, saying it is proud of its menu.
