(Scroll down for video) A man was pulled off a plane and Tasered after a dispute arose over a purse, which was not allowed on boards the flight, police in the United Kingdom said.

Witnesses on the easyJet flight from London to Belfast, Ireland, said that the man argued with the airline staff about the number of items allowed on the flight.

EasyJet has strict rules on the size of carry-on luggage and checked luggage fees. Passengers can carry one item of hand luggage on board and it must be checked for size before boarding.

The altercation occurred when flight EZY831 was on the runway and ready for take-off.

Police said that they were called around 8:00 a.m., on reports of a passenger who became increasingly abusive as a result of a dispute over a purse.

Police approached the angry passenger calmly and asked him to get off the flight. The man then began to scream and demand to know why his purse had caused a problem.

After the man refused to cooperate, he was Tasered by police before being pulled off the plane. Sussex Police said that the man was shot with a Taser and arrested on suspicion of breaching the peace.

All passengers and crew had to leave the aircraft, and they were interviewed by police as witnesses. The flight left two and a half hours later, and landed safely in Belfast after 90 minutes.
