Pastor Thomas Sills and many other church leaders held an anti-violence march to stop the violence in Savannah.
However, just hours after the march, Sills was robbed at gunpoint. Police were able to track down the thieves, using the phone tracking application on the pastor’s phone.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy along with an 18-year-old man who was identified as Jared Murphy.
The pastor said that he was out eating dinner with his family when he went to retrieve his car. The 2 teens came up from behind him.
When he turned around, Sills saw a gun in his face. They demanded his phone and wallet. He did as he was told and the teens ran away.
Sills said that the armed robbery made him even more determined to reach out to youth.
