A young couple posted photos of the treasure they found in their home while doing renovations.
The couple of Phoenix, Arizona, found a safe that contained money, old whisky and a book.
The couple said that they moved into the fixer upper home about two years ago. Since then, they have saved up enough money to redo their kitchen.
During the demolition, the couple found the safe in the floor under the kitchen. The couple said that their home had 6 previous owners so they have no idea who hid the safe in the floor.
“When we first moved in, we found a code for a safe in the back of a medicine cabinet, but we never found a safe. We saved the code just in case,” the couple said.
After a number of attempts, the code actually worked.
“We stared in disbelief. Time stood still,” they said.
The couple counted the money, mostly old $100 bills, and it added up to $51,080. They also found a bottle of bourbon, which is dated 1960, and a book titled “A Guide for the Perplexed by E.F. Schumacher,” published in 1977.
Inside the book, they found a black and white photo of a mystery man. On the back of the photo was a note that read: “Alan, I have a book you must read. I’ve underlined a few key passages. Your friend, Vincent.”
