(Scroll down for video) A group of workers threw a car into a canal after the driver hit their colleagues.

A witness took video of the moment the group of street cleaners in Brazil, took revenge against the reckless driver by pushing his car into the canal.

The workers became angry after two municipal workers, who were pruning trees along a busy road in Porto Alegre, were suddenly hit by the car.

The incident took place in the morning hours. The video captures the men, all wearing high visibility work jackets, tilt the yellow Fiat Uno over an embankment and into the shallow channel.

The street sweepers tried to catch the driver, but police officers, who got to him first, placed him into the patrol car.

The coworkers were seen standing next to the police car and screaming at the suspect before an officer pushed them away and drove off.

The two workers, who were hit by the car, were taken to a hospital. One is said to be in serious condition with multiple injuries.

The Fiat was later recovered and seized by police as part of the investigation into the incident.
