(Scroll down for video) A woman died after she was allegedly kidnapped by her boyfriend who led police on a high-speed chase.
The woman who was abducted by her former boyfriend in Georgia, died days after she was thrown from the van he was driving during the police chase.
Police arrested the former boyfriend, Ryan Arnold, 23, after a chaotic chase that also included the man carjacking an 18 wheeler.
The incident began when Oglethorpe County Sheriff deputies got a domestic disturbance call at the home of Arnold in Lexington.
Arnold took Hayley Hill, 23, hostage and began driving away from the home before police were able to stop him. During the police chase, shots were fired in Arnold’s vehicle.
Police believe that Arnold shot Hill before pushing her out of the car and onto the road.
She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors delivered the baby in an attempt to save the child’s life. Unfortunately, the baby did not survive.
Hill was declared brain dead and removed from life support.
After dumping Hill, Arnold abandoned his vehicle and carjacked an 18 wheeler. He held the driver, Paul Davis, 58, hostage.
Davis was wounded during a shootout between police and Arnold. He was shot five times, but he is expected to survive. Arnold also was shot.
He was charged with feticide, three counts of aggravated assault and kidnapping with bodily harm. He will likely face an additional charge of murder following the death of Hill.
