(Scroll down for video) A nurse and her boyfriend were arrested on a charge of filing a false police report after allegedly telling her colleagues that she was kidnapped in order to stay home, police in Florida said.
The Panama City Police Department said that they spent several hours searching for 43-year-old Beverly F. Brooks, after she told a coworker that she was being held hostage by her boyfriend.
The coworker called the woman to see if she needed a ride back to work because she had not arrived at the hospital after a scheduled break.
She told her colleague that her boyfriend is holding her against her will and he is preventing her from returning. The boyfriend was heard in the background.
Brooks and her boyfriend, 35-year-old James Vincent Hill Fennell Jr., were found on Avenue A in Port St. Joe. Brooks was not in danger and admitted that she just did not want to work.
Both were charged with filing a false report, and were booked into the Bay County Jail.
