A woman in New York, killed her boyfriend and set his body on fire.
Police arrested Dawn McIntosh, 46, of Long Island City, Queens, after she allegedly killed her boyfriend in front of her son.
At first, McIntosh told police that she was not with him at the time of the murder. However, she was arrested after detectives realized that she only had 9 of her fake fingernails.
Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said that a detective found a fingernail close to the victim. While talking to the suspect, he released that McIntosh was missing a fingernail so she was arrested for the murder.
Police said that McIntosh enlisted the help of her son to carry the body to her car, but when it was too heavy, she set it on fire in an attempt to destroy the evidence.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Sh-Ron McWhorter of Brooklyn. He was shot twice in the left side of his torso.
McIntosh was charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
Her son, 21-year-old Donte Watkins, was charged with tampering with physical evidence. His bail was set at $5,000.
