A man had a unique way to find new customers to buy his drugs.
The man of France, was arrested by police after he handed out flyers, advertising his products with free samples of cannabis.
The 32-year-old man had been distributing leaflets in his hometown of Villeurbanne.
In the handwritten note, the dealer offered to deliver the drugs for a minimum order of 100 euros (about $112). He added his name and phone number along with half a gram of cannabis for the potential customer to try.
Someone handed the leaflet over to police, who had no trouble tracking down the suspect. When raiding the house of the suspect, who is unemployed, officers found more than 100 grams of cannabis.
Noel Fayet, a superintendent for police in Villeurbanne, said that officers regularly stop drug dealers, but this
is the first time they met someone who gave away free samples.
“It’s a very special method of marketing indeed,” Fayet said.
The suspect allegedly told police that he was not selling drugs, but he was using the brochures to find people “who enjoy cannabis.”
