A woman who was unhappy that her husband was arrested, stole a police cruiser and freed her husband.
Police in Alaska, said that the woman stole the police car while her husband was handcuffed in the back seat.
28-year-old Amber Watford allegedly got into the patrol car and drove away as the officer was engaged with a passing motorist, according to a police report.
Officials found the car not far from where it was stolen in Big Lake.
Police arrested Joshua Watford, 38, for failing to appear at court ordered classes stemming from a previous driving under the influence charge, state police spokeswoman Megan Peters said.
Shortly after Joshua was arrested, his wife Amber got into the patrol car and drove off. Police launched a manhunt. They found the car, but the couple remained at large.
They were arrested after being found in a home about 45 miles north of Anchorage in Wasilla. Amber Watford was arrested and she now faces several charges, including theft and hindering prosecution.
