A student was horrified when a man attempted to kidnap and sexually assault her after posing as an Uber driver.
35-year-old Antonio Warren of Florida, who posed as an Uber driver, was arrested on Monday, after attempting to kidnapping a Tallahassee Community College student.
The Florida State University Police Department (FSUPD) said that Warren told the 19-year-old woman that he was an Uber driver.
She got into his car at 1:00 a.m., and he tried to kidnap her.
FSUPD Chief David Perry said that the woman was waiting outside the college dorm when Warren pulled up in a sedan and said that he was a driver for the Uber car sharing service.
She got into the car and asked to be taken to an apartment on Ocala Road. At one point during the trip, the teenager realized that Warren was not driving to her destination.
Warren exposed himself and demanded sexual favors, according to the police report.
When the victim tried to flee, Warren chased her and grabbed her arm and backside. Investigators determined that Warren was not an Uber driver, and he had no affiliation with the company.
Warren was arrested on a charge of kidnapping with intent to commit a felony. His is being held on $15,000 bond.
