A mother of the United Kingdom, was arrested after being caught with a large amount of drugs.
The 37-year-old woman who had nearly $1,000 worth of cocaine, said that she bought it to celebrate the 18th birthday of her daughter, police said.
Nicola Austen was arrested at her home with almost six grams of the drug, and she told the court that it was a birthday gift for her teenage daughter.
Austen told police that she planned to snort the drug with her daughter “to have a good time” on a night out in London.
Maidstone Crown Court heard how Austen, booked a limo and planned to take the stash with her to “surprise” her daughter on her 18th birthday.
The drugs were found by a police dog in 12 bundles, which were hidden in Austen’s bedroom.
Austen pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply. She was sentenced to 9 months in prison, suspended for one year. She was also ordered to complete 250 hours of community service.
