(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested after he offered to teach a 9-year-old boy how to drive at speeds of 100 miles per hour.
Morris Mitchell, 37, of O’Fallon, Missouri, was charged with manslaughter after a 14-year-old died in an accident with the 9-year-old boy at the wheel.
The 9 year old allegedly told police that Mitchell, who had a bottle of vodka between his legs, was teaching him to drive at 100 miles per hour.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that 14-year-old Damian Winters, who was passenger in the vehicle driven by the 9-year-old boy, died about 4:00 p.m.
The 9 year old is the stepbrother of Winters. Police said that the boy, who was driving a 2000 Ford Expedition, hit an embankment and it overturned, ejecting everyone inside.
Winters was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that none of the passengers in the car wore seat belts.
The 9-year-old boy and Morris were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. Morris was later arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree.
