(Scroll down for video) A woman who wants to live the American dream and change the world, decided to change her name to her idol.
Bonita Dunbar of Durham, North Carolina, changed her name to Oprah Winfrey, as she aspires to be like the famous talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
Dunbar who is from Liberia, became a citizen of the United States on Friday. She decided it would also be the perfect opportunity to change her name.
“If I had a choice to be someone in life, I would be someone who inspires others, someone who can touch lives and change history,” Dunbar said.
Dunbar came to the United States in 1993 as a refugee. She was unable to read or write. However, she did not let this stop her from accomplishing great things.
Dunbar has already graduated from college. She owns a business in Cary, and she has written a book.
