A man was arrested after he stole a single spoon from Walmart, police in Florida said.
46-year-old Gregg Martin Lerner was detained around after 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, after walking out of a Walmart in St. Petersburg, without paying for the metal spoon.
Lerner was stopped by the store security guard, and he was held until police arrived to arrest him.
According to Officer Michael Romano, Lerner stole the spoon, which is valued at $1.12. He said that he took the spoon because he had to eat his Captain Crunch cereal.
Lerner has a criminal history, which includes two previous convictions for robbery. He was charged with felony theft for walking out of Walmart without paying for the spoon.
Bail was set at $2,000.
