Young man dies after crashing into glass shower door while bathing with his girlfriend

A young man in Singapore, died after he cut his neck and head following a slip and fall in a shower.

Following the tragic incident, Coroner Marvin Bay recommended the use of tempered glass for doors and windows in places where falls can occur.

According to the police investigation, 24-year-old Sebastian Wong Yu Lun was taking a shower with his girlfriend around 7:30 a.m., after spending the night at her apartment located on Teban Gardens Road.

As Lun was exiting the shower, he slipped and crashed through the glass door.

Lun’s girlfriend, who was not identified, saw that his head was stuck inside the broken glass panel of the door and she tried to pull him out.

Meanwhile, her sister, who heard the sound of breaking glass, called for help. The girlfriend used a towel to stop the bleeding from Lun’s head and neck.

After five minutes, Lun lost consciousness. An ambulance arrived shortly thereafter, and Lun was transported to a nearby hospital.

Around 8:30 a.m., Lun was pronounced dead. The coroner determined that Lun’s death was accidental. Lun died of multiple cuts to the head and neck, caused by sharp glass fragments.

The injuries caused heavy bleeding, resulting in death.
