A police officer was arrested after his son was found not breathing.
The police officer of Tennessee, has been charged with murder in the death of his 2-month-old son.
Christopher Page, 27, of the Paris Police Department, was arrested Thursday, and charged with first-degree murder for the death of his son, who was named Gunner Page.
Police were called to the home of the officer and his partner, Hope Carson, after their 2-month-old baby stopped breathing.
Gunner was rushed to a nearby hospital and then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, where he later died. Police have not yet released the cause of death. However, they have arrested the baby’s father in connection to the death.
After a 3-week investigation, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation determined that Officer Page was responsible for causing life-threatening injuries to his 2-month-old son.
In addition to the murder charge, Page was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse.
The officer, who was fired from his job, allegedly confessed to causing the injuries in the death of his baby.
Police said that Page “gave a voluntary confession” during an interview with police. He is being held on $500,000 bond.
