(Scroll down for video) Parents are getting closure after their son went missing 7 years ago.
The remains of 18-year-old Joshua Vernon Maddux, who disappeared seven years ago, was found in a fireplace.
Contractors discovered his body while they were demolishing the abandoned cabin less than a mile from his home in Colorado.
The cabin has been abandoned for over a decade. The teen’s father said that his son often walked in the woods near the cabin.
The Teller County coroner ruled the death accidental. It is believed that Josh, who was a musician, was trying to squeeze into the fireplace when he got stuck.
Police said that a large cabinet was blocking the fireplace, causing Josh to be stuck and left him unable to escape.
Friends remembered Maddux as very smart, talented and creative.
